Giving Back: My Volunteer Experience with BackPack Beginnings

November 10, 2025

🀝 Community service has always been close to my heart, and I’m proud to share that I recently completed 18 hours of volunteer work with BackPack Beginnings β€” a nonprofit organization based in Greensboro, NC.

During my time there, I assisted with various tasks that support their mission: connecting children and families to essential resources like food and basic necessities. The team described my work as efficient, considerate, and positive β€” a reflection of the values I strive to bring to every environment I’m part of.

🌟 Why It Matters

BackPack Beginnings serves over 27,000 children annually through programs like:

  • Weekend food bags for 4,300+ children in 65 Guilford County schools
  • A Family Market that supports 950+ families each month

Their impact is tangible, and I’m grateful to have contributed β€” even in a small way β€” to their vision of a community of healthy children.

🧭 What I Learned

Volunteering reminded me that:

  • Small acts of service can ripple into big change
  • Community support is essential for long-term well-being
  • Giving time is just as valuable as giving money
