π€ Community service has always been close to my heart, and Iβm proud to share that I recently completed 18 hours of volunteer work with BackPack Beginnings β a nonprofit organization based in Greensboro, NC.
During my time there, I assisted with various tasks that support their mission: connecting children and families to essential resources like food and basic necessities. The team described my work as efficient, considerate, and positive β a reflection of the values I strive to bring to every environment Iβm part of.
π Why It Matters
BackPack Beginnings serves over 27,000 children annually through programs like:
- Weekend food bags for 4,300+ children in 65 Guilford County schools
- A Family Market that supports 950+ families each month
Their impact is tangible, and Iβm grateful to have contributed β even in a small way β to their vision of a community of healthy children.
π§ What I Learned
Volunteering reminded me that:
- Small acts of service can ripple into big change
- Community support is essential for long-term well-being
- Giving time is just as valuable as giving money
